$300.00 in Player donations to the Toys for Tots Foundation

December 20, 2015 by rgtadmin

This year at the 2015 ROGT, we surprised everyone with a Necron Army that was painted by JJ Vrnala of Silver Gargoyle Productions. He did fantastic work, and even donated a bag and foam to transport the army.

Bob Houck was the winner of a charity raffle, where we were able to raise $300 for the Marine’s Toys for Tots campaign.
Below is a copy of the thank you letter that we received from the Marine Corps in regards to our donation.
Thanks to everyone for their generosity at the event!

Thank you, Paul, for your generous donation to Toys for Tots.

On behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and the many less fortunate children who will experience the joy of Christmas because of caring people like you, I extend my warmest thanks for your thoughtfulness and generosity. Given today’s challenging economic condition, our work together is even more critical as the number of families experiencing financial hardship continues to grow.

We received your contribution of $300.00 on 12/11/2015 4:23:03 AM. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation provided you with no goods, services, or benefits for your contribution. We are also recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Cash contributions of the Foundation are deductible on your federal income tax return to the extent provided by federal income tax regulations. Please consult your tax advisor. This letter may be printed and retained as your receipt for record purposes.

Again, thank you for enabling the Marine Corps to meet the significant challenge of providing Christmas joy and hope to millions of our nation’s neediest children. Your kindness and compassion will make a difference in their lives.

For your reference, your secure Transaction ID is: xxxxxxxx.

Best Wishes,

The 2015 Renegade Open Results

December 14, 2015 by rgtadmin

Greetings and salutations everyone!

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for an incredible event this year.   While attendance was down, we had an influx of new players attend. Mix that with our Veterans from past events, and that equals an awesome time!

This year, we decided to have a surprise for our Warhammer 40k participants, and we auctioned off a completely painted and based Necron Army, with foam and bag. All proceeds went to the Toys for Tots, and we were able to donate $300.00 to this worthy charity.  Thank you for your generosity, everyone!

Congratulations to the following winners of the 2015 Renegade Open Grand Tournament:

The Renegade                         –  Trent Northington
The Renaissance Man           –  Matthew Root
Best Painted Army                 –  Chris Mehrstedt
Best Sportsman                      –  Al Sammons
Charity Army Winner           – Bob Houck

Final scores are calculated with players Battlepoints over six games, Sportsmanship, and their paint scores.  Paint scores will be provided upon request.

2015 40k Results

This year we went away from holding an RTT after the first day was completed, and went to a Pod system, which are like mini tournaments within our event. The winner of each pod received prizes for their achievements.

Every year, we also hold a small X-wing tournament. Congratulations to Clint Dawson, our winner this year.  Here are the results of that contest:

Finally, we introduced Warmachine as a new Tournament for the Renegade, using the Steamroller format.    Winners and results from that will be posted separately.
