General Rules

Warhammer 40k General Tournament Rules:

  1. Games will be played using the Warhammer 40k 7th Edition rule set. All the current errata and FAQs available from Games Workshop will be in effect.  Here is the ITC Tournament FAQ.  See Army Construction for further details.
  2. For an army codex to be tournament legal it must have been released a minimum of 30 days prior to the event (October 19th, 2016).  Any codex released less than 30 days prior to the event will not be allowed.
  3. Tournament participants should be over the age of 16, unless ok’d by the Organizers
  4. All models must clearly represent what they are supposed to be: WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get).
  5. Your models DO have to be painted to play. However, your paint score will be included in the Overall score and for an army to receive a paint score it must have 3 colors and be based.
  6. Players are expected to have a printed, legible army list to give to each of their opponents prior to the game and one for the judges at check in (Total of 8 lists are required).
  7. Players are required to bring a copy of their Armies Codex as well as any additional White Dwarf rules supplements (ie Dakka Jets and Storm Talons).
  8. Players are required to bring a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition Rule book (Either the BRB or LRB are acceptable).
  9. All players are required to have a printed copy of current FAQ’s/ Errata’s for both their army and the main Warhammer 40,000 rule book.
  10. If a player does not have their Codex, Rulebook, or current FAQ’s/Errata’s they forfeit any rules disputes they are involved in.
  11. Judges will be present in order to assist with any questionable rules arguments. All Judges rulings are final.
  12. Terrain on the tables will be be placed on the table by the Players, in order of Table Side selection, going back and forth until all terrain is placed.
  13. Placed terrain must adhere to the following restrictions:
    – Must be more than six (6) inches away from the table edge.
    – Must be more than five (5) inches away from another piece of terrain.
    – If a piece could not be placed players may “bump” terrain to mutual satisfaction in order to place the missing piece.
    – Fortifications are NOT considered terrain and are deployed with your army.
  14. Players are responsible for clearly determining what the various terrain elements will be counted as for determining: Cover Save values (6+, 5+, 4+, 3+) as well as what type of terrain it is (Impassible, Area Terrain, Ruins, Fortifications, or Dangerous Terrain).
